About the Artist

Korin Chapman

I'm Korin Chapman, a San Diego native with a deep-seated connection with the ocean. My art is a direct reflection of my love for the beach and swimming, and I strive to depict the sea's beauty in a way that's uniquely my own.

I come from a family of artists; my grandmother taught me sculpting, and my grandfather passed down the techniques of painting. This blend of skills has shaped my distinct style in mixed media sculptural paintings.

I create textured panels from gypsum material using palette knives and carving tools, employing a technique known as Bas’ Relief. These three-dimensional, textured designs serve as the canvas for my acrylic paintings, which bring vibrant ocean scenes to life. I aim to resonate with viewers, drawing them into the depth of my vision where textures and dimensions convey the essence of the sea that inspires me.
